Welcome

The Walton Shore Fire Department just completed another busy year, responding to a total of 23 emergencies, which consisted of four flue fires, two structure fires, fourteen medical emergencies and three mutual aid responses.  Although the early weeks of the fiscal year were relatively quiet for the department, the annual carnival was held in August, requiring a lot of work and dedication from our membership.

Our department is still working on the project of acquiring a new tanker for our district.  In February, we had the good fortune of purchasing a truck chassis of very high quality and the department membership is very pleased with this acquisition.  We are now entering the next phase of this project, which is to construct the tanker apparatus and ensure a completion of high quality.

As in the past, the support the department receives for the Ladies Auxiliary through their hard work and dedication had enabled us to progress towards this goal earlier, again they have made the payments this year on the pumper and the interest.  They have also agreed to try and accomplished this again next year.  Without their efforts both financially and physically we would find our role increasingly difficult, if not impossible, and we owe them a hearty "thank you".

I am looking forward to the year ahead with a positive outlook.  Hopefully we can complete the various tasks that lie ahead to ensure another successful year.
